A&M Tech Game

The highlight of my Halloween weekend was that I got to go see Taylor play against A&M. Connie and I headed out early Saturday to hit some tailgates and root on the Raiders (she roots for the Aggies) It was HOT but we had a great time. At half time I got to see Erin and her family and my Aunt Cathy and Avery. I am in Erin and Taylor's wedding in July and I always love to hear where she is in planning and such. I am mad at myself because I did not take a picture of her shoes. She has Toms shoes that she got painted red and black with POTTS #12 on the side. They are soooo cute. Even though Tech lost I had a great time for my first time at Kyle Field.

We had a great time this year dressing up for Halloween. Maddison was an Elephant and Garrett a Circus Peanut. They looked so cute together. We headed up to church for Trunk or Treat and loved seeing all the fun costumes. Then we headed home to actually Trick or Treat this year. This was the first year that we actually did the real thing. Well here is the last 7 months, and how Garrett has grown like a weed. He is such a happy baby, as long as he has a full belly. As I sit here on the computer he is all over the floor. I am betting he will be crawling by the end of the week, if not tonight. That is how close he is. I will try to be a better blogger.

Garrett 6 Months

My little man is getting sooo big. He is now 6 months and has figured out how to go from his belly to sitting up. He loves his big sister and is all smiles when she is in the room. Garrett eats like a champ, as you can see he is around 22 pounds. He is 93% in weight and 90% in hight. He is going to be very tall. He has 5 teeth, and is working on one more as of now. Yes it has been way too long since my last post. A lot has happened around the Gipson household. Maddison turned 3, and we had a fun party at the spray park here in town. Her 3 year pictures were a success and I will let the pictures do the talking.

Easter Pictures

We spent Easter in Tyler and did several fun things. Saturday morning we went up to our school for a huge easter egg hunt. Maddison got about six eggs due to her mom making her go with the 3-5 age group. Had she hunted in the birth-2 age she would have dominated. Six eggs were plenty when they are filled with candy. Around 4 we headed over to the Scott, Jana, and Avagail's house. Avagail in the only other girl in Maddi's class at school. The kids died eggs, hunted eggs, and played lots. Sunday morning we met Jason at church because he had to work Saturday night. The kids looked cute in their matching outfits and actually the whole family matched on Sunday. Overall we had a great Easter with just the four of us.

3 months

My little CHAMP did great taking his pictures this weekend at the Rose Gardens. Garrett is getting so big. He is speaking his own little language, can roll from his tummy to his back, and smiles at anyone. He loves to be outside and would live in his swing if I let him. He sleeps fairly well, usually gets up at least once. We started cereal with a spoon due to acid reflex, and he is a huge fan. 15 pounds and REALLY long. Happy 3 months Brother!!

Garrett turned two months and he is growing so fast. He still sleeps a lot during the day but has not conquered the entire night yet. He weighed 11.14 and 23 inches long. 65 percentile in hight so I think he is going to be tall and skinny.Maddison still does not want to have much to do with him, but she is good to play by her self when I am busy with him. Jason and I are headed to Winter Park CO next week to ski with a group from church. The kiddos are staying with my parents and I am sure they will have lots of fun. I will try to take lots of pictures so that I can post. Take Care.

Wow how time flies when you have two children to care for. Garrett turned one month yesterday and is growing like a weed. He is still not on a regular schedule and waking up at least twice each night. Maddison is a big help but only when it is her idea. She tries to share her thumb with brother but has quickly found out that it taste different after brother has tried it out. He does not like to be in his bed and loves to be held all the time. I am trying to put him in his bed on his boppy while he is awake to get him used to being in his bed.

I thought I knew what to expect with child number 2, but they are so different it has not been so easy.

Baby Garrett

As you can see Garrett arrived on December 18th at 8:03 am. I had to have a c-section because he was breech. Things around here are busy around here especially now that my mom is not here any more. She was here all week and I am so thankful for all of her help. Garrett weighed 7.6; exactly the same as Maddison and was 20 inches long. While I was in the hospital Maddison did not like being there. She did not want to have anything to do with brother or mom. It really broke my heart. Now that we are home she is like a new person. She wants to hold Garrett, gives him lots of kisses, and wants to help out a little.

Yesterday was a special day for us. We celebrated Jacque's birthday by purchasing our christmas tree, and decorating it. We decided to get a real tree this year. We love how it turned out and know that Jacque would love it. This is something that we are going to continue to do every year in remembrance of Jacque. We miss her so much, but know that she is with us all the time.

Tis The Season

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas around the Gipson house. Maddison has a tree in her room this year, so we will see how long it stands upright. This year we are starting a new tradition. Jacque's birthday was December 8, and since she is no longer with us we are, as a family going to go get our tree (a real one) and put it up. I have never had a real tree before, and Jason grew up with a real tree. I am excited to make this a time of a happy remembrance. We miss her so much, but on a daily basis it seems like she is still here. She would be so proud of us for thinking of her on her birthday.

Garrett is breech as of now, with only 14 days to go until my induction. I went to the doctor today and she also scheduled a c-section. When the time comes we will see where he is and do what needs to be done. Please pray that he turns, and gets in the correct position between now and then. That's all for now.

As you can see we had family pictures made. For some strange reason it will not let me move the pictures down so I will just start typing here. It has been a really long time since I updated my blog. First of all thank you all so much for the prayers and phone calls regarding Jason's sister. We are still taking things one day at a time knowing the holidays are going to be difficult. Maddison is 2 and will be a big sister in December. My official due date is the 25th but both my doctor and myself want to be home for christmas so if things do not happen on their own before the 18, I will be induced then. I feel like I am all ready for Garrett to be here, but there are still a lot of little things left to do.

We are headed to Abilene next Friday and will be there through Thanksgiving. It is going to be exciting because we are finally going to get to go to two Texas Tech games and watch Taylor. It has been a little bit of a rough year for him after his injury, but we are still behind him 100 percent. I will try to be better about blogging, but hold no kind of promise with a new one on the way. Thanks for reading.

For those of you who are not facebook people we need your prayers. Jason has a younger sister Jacque who is 25 lives here in Tyler with her husband Eric. Jacque was found dead in her appartment last night when Eric arrived home from work. We don't have any details yet, and don't know when the funeral will be. Jason is haveing a really hard time with this and carrying a lot of guilt. Please keep our family in your prayers. We are so greatful to be apart of a church family who has pulled together and shown so much support. All morning long we have had people at our house to pray with us and just sit and listen. You don't realize how important a church family is until something like this happens. At least we did not. Thanks for your prayers of peace.

I need some advice from you moms out there. Maddison will not stay in her bed at night. She gets up at 12 and 4 like clockwork wanting a drink. When she gets a drink she is very good about going right back to bed. I know when we start potty training the drink thing is going to have to stop, but when it is 4 in the morning all I want to do is go back to bed. Does anyone else have this problem? If so i need so suggestions.

We have been debating for a while wether or not to change Maddison's bed to a toddler bed. Jason has had the last two days off and that is exactly what we did today. As I am typing I am waiting to see if she will stay in it. She has always been a GREAT sleeper and I think she will be fine. We will see how the morning goes as well. I know she can open the door, but will she be able to find me in the house. Especially if I am hiding. hahah. I will let you know how the night goes.

I know, I know it has been a really long time. So, I am not going to stress out and try to catch up, I am just going to pick up where our lives are at this moment. We headed out for our weekely trip to the zoo with the Richard girls. Maddison and Natalie have so much fun together, the are so fun to watch haveing fun together. As you can see from the pictures Maddi would much rather wear a hat than a bow in the hair. I tried the bows for church tonight and this is what I found when we arrived. (the next to last picture)

Valentines day with my husband working all night I woke up to a warm breakfast and tulips. They were closed when I got them and have really opened nicely. Not much happening around here. I will try to be a better blogger.

Christmas Day

Christmas was small this year, but we had a great time. Jason's mom and grandmother came from Amarillo and stayed several days. We have not seen them since we moved in May so it was so good to get to spend time with them. As you can see Mddison got a new doll and stroller from Santa. Socks, shoes and clothes as well. Jacque and Eric hit the jackpot with the yellow school bus. It has balls in it and Maddison loves to run and flip herself in. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and looking forward to a new year.

This post is dedicated to the dog. He has been through a lot in the last couple of days , so I thought I would shoe him a little love. As you read in the last post he was attacked by a pitt bull on Friday. He is doing fine. In fact we have already been back out on the bike together.

A Scary Bike Ride

Yesterday Jason got home early and we deiced to go on a family bike ride. Jason and I both have bikes and we recently got a bike trailer for Maddison, and Grady is so good to run beside us on the leach. One of us had the baby and one had the dog. We usually stay in our sub-division but decided to venture out as a family. We were minding our own business, rounding the corner ready to ead home when we were met by a PIT BULL . Jason was pulling Maddi and was about 30 yards behind us. To make a long story short, in no time that dog had Grady on his back going for his neck. Jason was so brave to grab the pit by the neck and squeeeeze as hard as he could. He got the dog off, we called the cops and things could have been much worse. Grady did get bitten but will be fine. Thankfully no one else was involved with the attack. It was so scarry! I hardly slept last night because it just kept running through my mind over and over again. Needlesstosay we will be staying in our own sub-divison for a while ( at least until we know something is done with those dogs) It is just not fair that we can not even ride out bikes because we have to worry about someone else's dog not on a leach or in a finced in area. Don't wrry animal control WILL be called monday morning first thing.

Well today was very cold outside and being the great parents that we are our child does not have a heavy coat. I really do not want to spend the money on one this I know she will only use this year and it is not going to be cold for much longer. SO I have decided to double layer and get inside quickly. Today for school Maddi got the honor of wearing my scarf that Granny made several years ago. She was in style, let me tell you. I am actually thinking she needs one of her own. (hint, hint)

Thanksgiving

Well I have tried three different times to get these pictures on here, so finally here they are. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. My family from Abilene came to Tyler on Wednesday and Thursday we all (except Jason, he was on call) traveled to Shreveport. My Aunt and Uncle have a bueatiful home and we had a wonderful day. My entire dad's side of the family was there and it was so much fun. We usually get together every year and do christmas and thanksgiving together, but the last several years have been more difficult to get everyone together. Sky made this amazing apple/cranberry pie that was to die for. Anita made all the girls in the family approns. I am sorry that I did not take any more pictures than I did. Here are a few.

ACU Homecoming

Well I am sure if you know anything about college football, you know this was the game of the year. We had so much fun attending gameday and the game itself. This was the last year that we got to root for the horns. We have promised Taylor that we would be on his side when he is on the field. He did a great job holding for several extra points. Here is for you sports fans out there. Many of you know what College Gameday is. 9am Saturday mornings!! I love this show. I love getting up to see who all is playing and of course picks and headgear. Well, this weekend it is in Lubbock and I will be attending it and the game. I am so excited that yes I have made some signs. Taylor is going to kill me because they are HUGE and almost garantee to be on TV. I will have pictures of my signs but all of you football fans out there set your recorders. Signs will read "Potts" and "#15". Let me know if you see us. We are planning to be in the back.

Pumpkin Patch

Monday we went to Moor Farm where we went on a hayride to the pumpkin patch. Learned about pumpkin guts, and got to see lots of animals. It was a lot of fun and this is the pumpkin that Maddison chose. She carried it around the whole time by the stim and by the time we got home the stim was gone. In the second picture you will see both snot and drul. Just wanted to make sure that everyone did not think they were both snot. haha

The Weekend

As you can see we did very little this weekend. On Friday my friend Erin and I made the adventure to Canton. We knew we would not get to see everything, and we also knew it would be crowded. We got there early and left around 12:30. You have to remember we had the girls with is and it was starting to get hot. (Erin is 5.5 months prego) I found a few things, one including the cross we hung above the TV.

The main event of Saturdays around our house is always football. We got to see Taylor play on TV and they did a whole info section on him. He did great and Tech ran all over K State. Way to Go 'T'! Maddi got a close up and said "ba" (ball)

Nap Mat and New Decor

Once again pictures out of order that I am not going to try to fix. My sister-in-law started saleing Uppercase Living. If you have never heard about it you should visit the website. (uppercaseliving.com) It is home decorating with words of any saying to put on your wall,mirrow, really anywhere you want. They have a cataloge or you can make your own. If you are interested let me know and I can hook you up. So here is what I did in our bathroom above the tub.

Maddison got her nap mat in the mail today. We go to school on Tuesday, Thursday and she is a pro at naping. I found this online where you can personalize it from the frabic to the color to the name. Thanks Granny and Paw for the new mat. We will let you know how it works on Thursday.

We attended a poolside dinner tonight for several doctors and all the residents. The food was so good and we always enjoy getting tofether with all of Jason's co-workers. Maddi wanted to get in the water sooo bad. We had to keep a very tight hold on her. aka hold her the whole time. I never think to take pictures of the three of us, but this time I did. The Weekend

Just some pictures from the weekend!!

First things first. We watched the Raiders on TV hoping that 'T' would get to play. And our hopes came true. We are so proud of him. Since we are so far away from Lubbock now we will not get to go to as many games as we would like. Never fear Maddi and I are making the trip for the Texas game. We will be rooting for the RAIDERS!!

Anita came into town and took Maddi and I to lunch and the simi-anual childrens clothing consinment sale. Thanks to aunt Anita Maddison got this cute jacket for the winter.

Pool Time With Paw

Maddison loves to climb on the ladder in the pool. She also thinks she can swim to the side and if you are not careful she will be off of it in no time. She does not seem to be afraid of anything especially the water.

Several Weekends

The past couple of weekends have been busy. My parents came over for Labor Day and I went to Abilene this last weekend to my friend Kaci's baby shower. It is always so good to see the girls I grew up with, the all hold a very special place in my heart. When we get together it is nothing but good times and LOTS of laughs. Kaci is having a little boy. Jace Kelly will be here in October. Good luck with everything Kaci!

Just some more pictures from this week. This is our last week to be at home everyday. I will start working two days a week at at Tuesday/Thursday school teaching three year olds. Most of you know that I am not a teacher, so we will see what happens. Maddison's new thing is to play with her doctor kit and listen to her heart beat. She loves to wear this around her neck all around the house. I thought it was so cute how Jason showed her how to put it on her chest and this morning when she was playing with it she did just that. I was quick and caught it with the camera.

The other day I heard this crazy noise when Grady had this duck in his mouth. Today some of the other wives meat at a frozen custard place to get ice cream. There were two other girls there older than Maddison and I can't really tell you what happened except for the fact that she just took off. Walked a little circle around everyone by herself. Of course I did not have my camera with me but we will have fun getting pictures tomorrow.

New Family Member

As you can see we have added a new member of the family. His name is Grady, a full blood Weimaraner. He is 7 weeks old and is so much fun. We have thought we would be without a dog for a while but with out situtation right now I am going to feel a lot safer at night having Grady. We found him in the Houston area and the owner was so nice to meet us in Huntsville with all of her male pups. We were able to choose from seven males and this is what we came home with. The owner also had a doggy door so he already know to go outside to potty. He is already sleeping good and eating well and starting to want to play a lot more. He is going to be so different from what we had before. Calm, BIG, and protective. Enjoy some sweet photos.

Some sweet friends from Levelland gave me an awesome resipe for squash cassrole. I am not a huge squash fan, but this cassrole is amazing. As you can see Maddison likes it as well. She could not get enough of it. She even thought it might help her hair grow a little. Thanks Erin and Toni.

A Week of FUN!!

This past week I was the brave aunt and asked my two sweet nieces to come visit. We had such a good time. I had the week all planned out and I could not have asked for a better turn out. We visited the zoo, went to museums, and swam several times a day at the house. I am so glad we got a pool because I don't know what else they would have wanted to do at 8AM!!! If you know me at all I am not an early bird, and I have a child who is a great sleeper. Well, this week was a little different. If not one then both of the girls would hear Jason leave and come into my room and ask if they could get in the pool. Since it was usually only 6:30, I was mean and made them wait until 8. Most of the pictures below are of the discovery science center we visited. It is very educational, and the girls had a lot of fun. They played dressup and put on a performance, climbed in the real ambulance, and wrote percriptions. They alsotook care of the babies in the newborn nursery and looked at x-rays. That is just a few of the things we did. I know we could have spent all day there had we not needed to eat lunch. I had so much fun with Delaney and Britlyn. It really made me realize what amazing parents Nathan and JoAnn are. They have done such a great job with these two girls. They were so nice to others and used very good manners. Thanks girls for a great week. Mark your calenders for next year!!

THE Party!!

This last Saturday we had the big party. My parents, brother and his two girls made the 3 movie trip from Abilene. We had several friends from here in town including Ross, Amy and Mikinna. Maddison got several things. Her big gift that we did for her is her pink chair with her name on it. Gifts also included 3 new pairs of shoes, clothes, books, cd's, money, a baby, and the hit gift that she plays with all the time the Pooh Train. I did not go all out for the party but had a lot of fun with the cake. I knew cupcakes would be somewhat easy, but I got a little creative and built a cake. I try to limit the amount of sweets that Maddi gets, so having a cupcake was a real treat. She cramed two SMALL cupcakes down in no time.

I cannot believe that I have a one year old. It seems just like yesterday that we were in Amarillo with a little one. We made the trip to Sears to have the pictures made, and Maddison did so well. I remember the first trip to Sears and how it seemed to be such of a hassle. Timing it right so that she would be full but somewhat awake for the session. This time I just threw her in the car and went. These pictures turned out so well. We have the big party on Saturday. My parents, brother and his family will all be here for the party and the weekend. Jason's family will not be able to make the long trip, but we had so much fun spending the 4th with them in Abilene. This is not all of the pictures, but enjoy!

Feeling Like Home

Well things are really starting to feel more settled around here. We have made out first trip to the ER and I am sure it will not be the last. Jason started work and takes call next week. God has sent me an amazing person who's husband is an intern as well and she (Erin) has been such a blessing in my life and I have only known her for less than two weeks. I am sure that you will hear a lot about Erin and Natalie (2 years old) because we have gotten together to do something with the girls everyday this week. I am working on Maddison's birthday party and plan to have a full house on the big day.

11 Months

Maddiosn turned 11 months on Sunday. We spent the weekend with Anita, David, Courtney, Kayla in Shrevport out in the pool most of the time. Maddison LOVED the water. This little floater device was great. She could go all about the pool by herself. Miss Independant. Courtney even got her to blow bubbles in the water. Thanks Court for the free swim lessons. The hit of the weekend was Kayla's cat. Maddison loved to chase that cat all over the house. She even hit her hed on the bed trying to get under there with the cat.

As you can see in the pictures below the dining room had a paper boarder at the top and the living room was RED. It took three coates of primer to get the red covered but we did it. Lets start with graduation. It is official Jason is now Dr. Gipson. It seems just like yesterday that we were new in Lubbock and remember thinking that the next four years were goint to go by so slow. I can not believe that in two months I will have a ONE year old. I guess I need to start thinking about a party. Maddison is growing like a weed. She is also going through that stage where no one can hold her but her mom. I was telling Jason tonight that sometimes that can be real annoying but most of the time it is the best feeling in the whole world. Just unexplainable. Getting Organized

I have no clue why these pictures are so messed up but this is what Jason and I did all day. The packing process has been going on for quiet a while. Today Jasons mom Betty kept Maddison while we got down to business. We are having a moving company move us but we have to have everything packed and ready to go. We will also not be here when the movers come. Thankgoodnes we have family that will be here. We wanted to make sure that everything gets on the truck so we came up with the color coating and number system. We think we have everything accounted for I guess we will see when they unload the truck in Tyler. Only 9 days left here in Amarillo and 84 boxes later.

The pictures explain a lot. I guess every child has a powder incident. This is what I found when I walked in the door from running an errand. Jason was just around the corner but... need I say more. "Mom, I was just trying to help. Isn't this the way you usually do it"?
While we were in Abilene, Paw was trying to fix his backdoor. Maddison was trying to tell him to just get a new one, it would be a lot less work.

9 Month Appointment

We went to Maddisons 9 month appointment today and something quite funny happened. As the nurse was taking her highth she went to write it in the chart and turned back to measure again. Our doctor was standing there and here is how the conversation went:

nurse: that can not be right, that is the hight of an average two year old

doctor: o yes, you see mom here is tall, but have you seen dad he is around 6'5

nurse:yes I was correct the first time, (as she turns to look at me) you have a very long baby.

We were sad that this was our last time to see our doctor here in Amarillo. She has been there since the beginning and has really enjoyed watching Maddi grow. We are headed to a-town for our family reunion. I am sure I will have lots of pictures. Take care!

We had a really busy weekend. Our garage sell went great. It was a lot of work and we are very glad that it is over. We made enough money to purchase us a refrigerator, paint for the new house, the movers, and gas to get to Tyler. My parents also came up for the Last time. The next time they come to see us we will be in east Texas. I am sure they were glad to get out of our house because due to all the boxes and packing process our house looks like a tornado came through. We also sold our couch and big chair so there was not much to sit on except the good ol' hard wood floor. We took a little time to take a few pictures. Maddison has been on the go for about three weeks now, I am just a bad mom and have not posted about it. She is getting a lot quicker and is pulling up quite often. As her shirt reads, she is also getting a little attitude going on every now and then. I found these pants that she has on a while back on a clerance sale. I thought it would be a while until she could wear them, but little did I know that my 9 month old would be able to wear 18-24 month clothing. I just have to keep reminding myself that mom is tall and dad is 6'5. We have our garage sale this weekend hoping to get rid of a lot of stuff. We also hope to make a little money off of it as well. Successful Trip to Tyler

WE PURCHASED OUR FIRST HOME!!!!! Yes, we are so excited.We were in Tyler this weekend and had a great time. We went to the school for Jason to get all of the information dealing with his contract. He also tried on coats and scrubs for sizing. Saturday was a day full of looking at houses and finding just the right one. We did just that. The first house that we looked (after spending all day on about 8 others) we signed the papers that evening. Thanks to mom and dad for making the trip with us and watching Maddison all day saturday. Tomorrow we go and get 9 month pictures. I am looking forward to that because she is so much more mobile.( haha) Stay tuned.

8 Months!!! Maddi is getting so big. She is almost crawling, will eat anything you put to her mouth, can wave buy buy, play patti-cake, and loves to give lots of kisses.

She will eat anything. I had gone to take a shower and dad was watching Maddi. There was a can of pringles against the couch about three feet from her. When dad walked around the corner this is what he found. She somehow got over to the can, managed to get the lid off and stuffing all she could in her mouth. As you can see she was having a hay day with cheese all over her face.

Tyler Texas Here We Come!!

As you all know we have been waiting on this day for a while. Today at 11am we found out that we got our first choice for residency. We will be moving to Tyler the end of may or sometime in June. Jason reports July 1st. Jason also received an award today for Outstanding Student in Family Medicine. We are so proud of him. Way to go Jason!!!

I know that it has been a while and I have a lot of catching up to do. Maddison and I have been in Abilene since the 24th of Feb. My dad had his surgery on the 28th and we have been here helping out. Everything went well with the surgery, he is home recovering and all of the labs came back negative. Praise the Lord!!

So this is what I found when Maddi woke up from her morning nap. It may be hard to tell but she has turned herself over and scooted all to the other end of the bed. When I opened the door I almost hit her legs which were sitcking out between the black rails. So much for the bumper because she went right under it. Wow how time flies. Maddi is now seven months and seems to be ready to get into things. She has two bottom teeth and is currently working on one of her top ones. She also will eat anything you put in her mouth, and loves to be held. As you can see in the pictures below Kyla and I got the girls together for a little photo shoot. Residency Update.

Just a little update about where we are in this whole process. Jason is going into Family medicine and has three really great choices for residence. In random order, Amarillo (which means we would not have to move), Waco and Tyler. We went back to Tyler and Waco for second looks and who knows what will happen. I kind of wish there was a sign up sheet and we could pick where we wanted to be. Unfortunatly that is not the case and we will find out on March 20th where we will spend the next three years. Don't worry we will let you know.

My sweet friend Jessica had her little girl on Jan 19. I was so blessed to be able to stop by and spend a little time with her. Her little girl Emma Kate is so precious. Everyone tells you when you have a little one that they grow so fast. I really did not realize how true it is until I went to see Emma. It is hard to believe that Maddi was that small. They really do grow fast. Jessica and I already have plans, if we move, we are going to meet in Canton the first of each month to shop together. I can not wait. I can already see it now. Emma and Maddi future ACU roomates!!

Way too often I find myself needing to go through Maddisons clothes to put away the outfits she has outgrown. So here we are again, going through clothes. As you can see in these picures Maddi is and has been sitting up all by herself. She is getting so much stronger and is getting ready to start moving, We have hard wood floors in our house and every now and then I am in the other room and all I heat is a loud thud followed by a very loud cry. She is at the point where she wants to go, just has not figured it out just yet.

Warning!!! If you do not like pictures, this blog is not for you. This post is also VERY messy!! I tried to put things in order but kind of got out of hand so I just started putting the ones that I really like. As you can see this is the family ski trip to Red River New Mexico. We had such a great time, I really hope we get to do it again. Throughout this blog you will see pictures from getting packed, unloading, shopping and riding in the car. Thank goodness no one got hurt, and everyone made it home safely.

Out behind our cabin there was a road that was great for using the saucer. As you can see everyone took their turn, just some were more successful than other.

Prayer Request

For those of you who know my wonderful dad, I have a favor. While we were in Abilene during the Christmas season we found out that my dad has be diognosed with prostate cancer. He and my mom will be traveling to Dallas on Monday for a second opinion. We are very thnkful that the cancer is in the early stages, very small and can be either treated or removed depending on what he decided. We are VERY hopful that everything will be simple and painless, but the first thing we need are your prayers. Thanks for reading!!!

This last Sunday was a special baby dedication for the new babies at church. It was perfect timing because both Jason and my family were able to be there. We were all brought to the front to dedicate raising our children in the Lord. It was a very special time for our family. It was also neat to get to do this with the Muns fanily. For those of you who know Alen and Kyla Muns they have a little girl, Ava Kate, who is two months older than Maddison. Please stay tuned for ski pictures. We had a lot of fun this past week. Christmas in Abilene was so much fun. Everyone on my mom's side of the family was there except for Taylor. He was in Florida for the bowl game. T we missed you and good luck in the game. This year was especially special for Jason and I because this was our year to get a quilt. My very talented grandmother started making quilts several years ago starting with the oldest child working the way down through the family. We get to pick out the pattern and the material, but don't get to see it while in the process, only when complete. There is a picture of it on here, but let me tell you the photo dosen't do it justice. It is amazing!!! Maddi got her first UT book! (what have we started?)

We are going skiiing this next week so Britlyn, and Delaney (my nieces) got a lot of ski gear. We are going to have a blast. The girls big gift this year were dolls that look like them, with matching outfits.They are really cute.

Christmas was a lot of fun with a little one in the house. We had Christmas with Jason's family on Wednesday the week before. Then we headed to Abilene to spend several days with my parents and a great time celebrating the holiday. Maddison was a very good girl, she got a lot of great gifts.

Santa came to Granny Ga and T-Paw's house for the first time in a long time. Maddi got a variety of gifts, PJ's, sippy cup, toys, Uggs, tights, socks, a plate with her initial on it.

Maddison got an early Christmas gift. A highchair, thanks to granny Ga and T-Paw. We (at least I do) love it. It is so nice to feed Maddi like a normal child, instead of in her pod on the kitchen table. I really like it because it so different from any other chair. Thanks again!

Interview Roadtrip

I really feel like we have been around the world and back. Traveling with a five month old really makes traveling a bit difficult. Jason had three interviews for residency so we decided to make a family trip out of it. We left last Monday, flew to love field and then drove to Waco. After the interview on Tuesday we got in the car and drove to San Antonio to stay with Dana, Kent, Chris and Mikayla. Wednesday we got up went down to the River Walk, ate lunch, shoped a little, then back in the car heading for Corpus. Interviewed in Corpus on Thursday and headed for Austin to see college friends. Thanks to Eric, and the Hise family for a great bed for the night. We then headed to Keller to stay with Brittany and Zane for the weekend. Sunday we headed to Tyler for the final interview. After the interview it was back to love field to fly home. Our little rent car was great taking us 1300 miles. Thank goodness Maddison like to ride in the car. She did great!! Only got a little fussy in the middle of Austin traffic, but nothing a bottle could not cure. Here are some pictures, Enjoy!!

Maddison did so well on her first plane ride! She was out by the time we were in the air and sleept the whole time.
From San Antonio we made the drive to Corpus. We stayed in a really nice hotel and had a very nice dinner on the top floor. The highlight on this trip for me was that I got to see my friend Aleisha. She is pregnate and due any day now. She is so cute and going to be a great mom. We went to lunch together while Jason was interviewing. Thanks Aleisha for the time together, it was so much fun to catch up. Maddison having "dinner" at the Omnie.

Friday and Saturday night we stayed with Brittany and Zane. It was so good to see then and finally get to meet Maddison. We had a fun relaxing time in Keller. We ordered Chilis on Friday night, slept in on Saturday then Britt, Maddi and I went over to Southlake to hit a few stores. Sunday we went to church with them and most imprtantly watched to Cowboys game. Then we hit the road for the last time for Tyler. Once Again

As you can see it has been a while. I really do not have an excuse, just lazy. I will just play catch up for a bit. Most of Jason's family is here in Amarillo and we had a wonderful Thanksgiving at our house. It was great to actually spend some quality time with everyone. The day after, Jason and I got out all of our Christmas decor. I was prego and working last year, therefore we did not put up a tree because we never found the time. This was the first year in like ten years that I did not have to work the day after Thanksgiving. It was so nice to relax and start getting in the spirit of the holiday. I am sad that we missed out on the snow in Abilene. Usually it is us who is getting to enjoy the snow before the people in A-town. Things are good around the Gipson home. Jason is COMPLETELY OFF until February. Yes that is correct, during the last year of med school the students get three months off and just happened that two of the months are back to back. (I am sure Maddi and I will be ready for him to be back at work. haha) Not having to be on a school schedule does not mean that you get out of the interview process. Saying that, we leave in the morning on an eight day long, three interview trip. This will be very interesting flying and driving across the state with a 5 month old. I will let you know how it goes.

My mom came up this weekend and we did a whole lot of NOTHING!! I really do not know why she brought so many changes of clothing because Saturday all we did was play with Maddison and watch football. It is always fun when my mom comes up because I cry everythime she leaves. I miss so much getting to see my parents on a regular basis and am so jealous they get to see my brother and his family so often. I am counting down the days when Jason, Maddi and I get to see them more often. I love my mom and dad so much and I know that I do not tell them enough.

Wow! How time flys when you are having fun!!!! It is hard to believe that Maddi is already four months old. She is getting so big and learning new things all the time. Outfits are always so wet at the end of the day that I had to find some "cute" bibs for her to wear all the time. We go to the doctor on Monday and I am not looking forward to that at all. ENJOY!
I had no clue she is ready to run around the block!!

The other night when I was feeding her cereal. She was fussy and so tired. She found her thumb and was gone, right there in the chair. It was too funny.

Since it has been a while, I have finally found he time to sit down and update the blog. Everything started two weekends ago when the entire Gipson family traveled to Lubbock to watch the TTU-Colorado game. The company was great, but the game not so much. Then Maddison and I headed to Abilene for PawPaw's 80th birthday party. Jason started a new rotation that is more demanding, so Jason "allowed" Maddi and I to stay in Abilene for the week to attend Delaney's fall festival the next weekend. We had so much fun, with time to relax. It is always nice going to my parents house because Mom is willing to get up with Maddi in the early mornings. It spoils me to get some sleep. Thanks Mom, your the BEST!! Halloween was on Wednesday and Maddi was a cute sweet pea. No trick-or-treating, just a little dress-up. I have pictures but once again the order got messed up.

Starting this week we began rice cereal. Maddi is doing so good. She really already has the motion down on taking in food, so the mess was not too bad. The best part about starting solids is that she slept 11 HOURS last night. That is right when I heard her this morning and looked at the clock, I could not believe my eyes. I thought she would wake up screaming because of hunger but she was smiling away when I walked in to pick her up. Sorry that it has taken so long to catch everyone up. I will try to be better. What a fun weekend! Jason, Maddison and I made the trip to Abilene to attend ACU homecming. We both got to see lots of college friends, and enjoyed every minute of their company. Iowa State Game!

Maddison and I made a weekend trip to Lubbock to attend the Texas Tech game against Iowa State. We had a great time getting to meet several new people. Fran and Jim opened their house, which was very nice. Maddison did not go to the game but told me all about staying with her cousin Kayle. Thanks Kayla, and we will see you again this weekend. It is always fun to be with family who love to hold and love on Maddison. The most exciting event that happened was that Maddi finally got to meet cousin Taylor, and Taylors "friend" Erin. Taylor did great in the game. Eventhough he got the color of the jersery mixed up one time, we are so proud of T. Maddia and I got to go to Erins parents (Greg and Toni) house for lunch on Sunday and then were suprised with a visit to Toni's specialty shop there in Levelland. Back To Work

Well things have been a little crazy around the Gipson house. My wonderful mom came up to stay the week with us so she could help out with Maddison while I returned to work. I had to go back and give my two weeks notice so that my insurance would not drop me. I am so glad that work is behind me now and I am able to spend all my time watching my little one grow. I am really glad that I had to go back because it really made me realize how much I would miss Maddi and so glad we do not have to do the day care thing. It is a great blessing to be able to be a stay-home mom. Maddison is growing so much. She is will be three months on the 8th and is now thirteen pounds and 25 inches long. She is a great baby, I would not have it any other way. While my mom was here, since she has been having trouble with her back, we went to the YMCA pool so that she could do her stretches and relax her muscles. We took Maddi with us and she loved the water. The pool was just the right tempurature, and we had a great time. Here are some pictures from the last several weeks.

These first two pictures have a funny story. I drove up from work on Thursday to see Mom and Maddison sitting on the front porch enjoying the weather. Maddi was all decked out. I asked my mom if she had been somewhere or just felt like playing dressup and she said "I did not have anything to do with what she has on. Passy Device

Warning!! Some of you may think this is mean or stupid; that just means you probably do not have children that you put to bed at night. Jason and I have to get up several times while putting Maddison to bed to put her passy back in her mouth. So the other night Jason comes in the room (office/nursery) with this little device. I know this looks scary but don't worry I do not leave the room with it in her mouth like that. As you can see this is nothing but a head band with hair ties attached on each side to give you the length (yes, it's adjustable) Bobby pins threaded through the passy and then turned sideways to keep things intact. Believe it or not IT WORKED. With it being stretchy, she is able to push it out with her mouth, without waking herself up. I was leary of using it but with a few trial runs during the day, I gave in. When she finally falls to sleep, all we have to do is slip a bobby pin out and remove the entire device from the bed. Again this is not FDA aproved and you are at your own risk when trying this, but I know night time is a lot less stressful.

2 Month Appointment

Our trip to the doctor was not as bad as I thought it was going to be, but it was not fun whatsoever. Maddison now weighs 11.11 and is 25 inches long. We are still trying to figure out where she gets her length from. When it came time for the shots, I left the room. Great advice for any new mom. Take your husband with you and make him stay in the room. I walked down the hall and around the corner and could still hear her screaming. Yes, she got very upset but was asleep in my arms as we walked out of the office. I am so thankful that Jason is willing and stronger than I am when it comes to all that stuff. As you can see from the pictures Maddi has found her hands and would rather have them than her passy. At first she was just sucking on her lower palm and now she really likes her thumb. At this point anything will do as long as I don't have to keep putting that silly passy in a million times at night. O well, what else do I have to do besides take care of this little angel?

Maddi has grown so much that we had to take her carseat to the next level by adding the lower buckle.

2 Months,11 Pounds, 7 Hours

Well, Maddison is now two months old. She is growing so fast. She is also 11 pounds and we will find out officially on Friday when we go to the doctor for all those nasty shots. I am not looking forward to that at all. I am such a chicken, I think I am going to let Jason be the one in the room with her. Three nights this last week she slept for 7 hours each night. I was really suprised when I woke up and saw the time on the clock. Here is a little flash back. The first three pictures are recent. The last one is a picture of her very first bath. She is getting bigger by the minute. Thanks Granny Ga and T-Paw for the fun swing!

Well I put Maddison down in hopes that I might get to watch the football games or read a little. I shoud have know my plans were going to be delayed by having to put in the passy fifty million times (so it seemed). As I type this I am still having to get up every few minutes. We are trying our hardest to get to where we can just put her in her bed in the evenings. We have a while to go. Oh well, we are learning as we go. Today was a great day at the Gipson house because we got a new stove several days ago and the plummer came today and installed it. Now I can cook (haha). Here are some pictures I took today. I thought these overalls were so cute. Boy does she look like her daddy in these photos or what??? She is finally asleep.

As you all know my cousin is the backup QB at Texas Tech. We are all so proud of Taylor, especially Maddison (who has not even met the kid yet) Yes Maddison was forced to sit in front of the tv last night, with he red and black head gear, to see if 'T' might get to play. She even made this sign for him. BECAUSE Maddi made this sign at the beginning of the game and held it up the entire game, Coach Leach gave her a break with ten minutes t0 go in the game. YES!!! 'T' got to make his first official aperiance as a red raider.

One Month!! And lots of precious smiles. As you can see from some of the pictures we have two dogs (doc and buz). Since Maddison's arival they have been very good. They are very curious but are very good not to lick. As we were driving home from Abilene on Sunday we got to Canyon and see that buz has found a spot in the backseat on top of Maddison's legs. Thank goodness he does not weigh very much. We thought it was funny and no we did not let him stay there. I guess he is just making sure she is ok.

Baby Doll

These next pictures have a funny story that go with them. When I was growing up I had a life size baby doll named Molly. She had lots of clothes, highchair, and a stroller. Well since the girls (Delaney and Britlyn) go to Granny Ga's house quite often, they love to play with Molly and all her accesories. My mom got the bright idea that Maddison is just about the size of Molly and her stroller would be quite fun for Maddi. So here are some cute pictures of Maddison in Molly's stroller. She really enjoyed the ride around the living room and as you can see this could be used in the future to get her to sleep. (haha) The only thing is that this activity is a real back breaker for the pusher.

Granny Ga

No, Granny Ga was not the only one to hold Maddi. She shared (a little). Granny Ga enjoyed Maddison very much. She loved to read to her, push her around the house in the baby doll stroller, give her baths in the evenings, put her to sleep at night, and most importantly get lots of smiles out of Maddison. Thanks Granny Ga for all the special memories. We are ready for you to be here the end of this month!!

Abilene Memories

Our time in Abilene went by way too fast. We are so glad that we got to spend so much time with family. Maddison and I got to spend the mornings together while everyone else went to work. Dad was usually home by 2, and some days Maddison and I were still in our pj's. We all enjoyed time to rest, relax, and enjoy the wonderful company. I am sure the sweet people at my mom's new job are gald that we are gone, because we seemed to make that the meeting place when the time came. Thanks you ladies, and Dave for allowing us to spend as much time as we could as a family while we were in town.

I know, I know, I know, it has been a really long time since my last post. We are still in Abilene and will be home on Sunday. I have not taken the time to post because we have been so busy with family and friends. I have lots of pictures to share and will very soon. Getting Packed

First Doctor Visit

I am going to have to make this fast because I can hear her stirring in bed. She is such a great sleeper, I am so thankful. We went to the doctor on Wednesday and things look good. She is eating good and growing. I was a little disappointed when they weighed her, because she only gained two ounces from her birth weight, but she has already grown an inch. I do have to remember that she did not come home weighing the same as when she was born. We think she came home as 6.10, and is now at 7.8. the last several days she has been eating like a wild child. I think she is going through a growth spurt, because she is also sleeping in longer streaches.
The Gipson house is about to make the trip to Abilene for the month of August. Jason will be doing a family practice rotation with the Texas Tech clinic there in town. We are looking forward to the many visits in store and getting to spend a lot of time with family. We are going a little early just because we (Maddison and I) want to. My parents are working their tails off, it seems just so we will have a little more room in the house. Thanks mom and dad for all your hard work. I hear her. Sorry no pictures this time.

Sweet Pictures

Well we made out first trip to get our pictures taken as a family,but more imortantly while Maddison is still little. I am sure you all remember your first outing to have pictures taken. I tried my hardest to feed her right before we left so that she would be asleep in order to get some cute shots. With all my hard work we arrived at the studio and things seemed to going as planned. That is until we took her out of her carrier. At first things were fine, she was alert, wide eyed and we were able to get some shots. About ten minutes in she let us all know that she was hungry, and not letting up until she got some food. Thank goodness I had prepared for this to happen. With a full stomach, She Did Great!! I know I was the one that was so worried about getting some good shots, but really as it turned out, there was nothing to worry about at all. I am learning to live in the moment and not worry about things that may not turn out the way I have planned. Here are just a few, don't want to spoil everything for when we get to Abilene. ENJOY!
